Chapter 2- Fire on the mountain

Dear Diary,

Well, today was very interestingggggggggg. Sorry about that. I fainted and.. well the point is that today was very interesting. Jack and the other boys started a "little signal" fire that ended up lighting almost half the island on fire. I just hope that god is looking over these boys and helping them make smart decisions. Jack's followers, being all the other boys on this island except for Ralph and Piggy, are just so officious towards him and are always ready to help him. They are easily induced so they will do anything that you want them to, good or bad.

I think that god blesses every creation but this was one of his better creations. This island is so beautiful with its endless forests and crystal clear lagoon. We have made the lagoon into a bath. The ebullience on this island is definitely a wonderful gift from god. From the crawlers that are covering the island to the piglets skattered over the island, always trying to hide from Jack and his horrrbile spear.

I think that we will be rescued, but I'm not sure when though. The fire was a good idea at first but then it got out of control and burned down part of island. With it, part of our food, shelter, and a the most capering member of The Survivors, the boy with the mulberry colored birth mark on his face. We were all freaking out about the fire and didn't realize that he wasn't amongst us until it was to late. The other boys on the island might not be able to admit it but I think that they are all martyred. We all know he is in a great place now but he will forever be missed.

The beastie has really been scaring all of us. I think its very mysterious that the boy with the birthmark claimed he saw beastie and now hes dead. I hope that doesn't happen to anyone else on the island.
