In class response
Dear Tatiana De Rosnay,
Hello. My name is Samantha Vaux and I am an 8th grade student attending High Tech Middle School. For literature circles, I chose to read your book Sarah's Key. This book is wonderful. The details that you include are absolutely amazing. I can picture everything. It's like I'm in your story. I think it's amazing how you can tell two very different stories yet so easily connect them together.
While I was reading your story, there were so many parts that I wanted to know even more on. That tends to happen to me when I get really into a book. I want to know every aspect on it. Something that I am still a little confused on and want to know more on is what happened to Sarah's part of the story. Her story was my favorite of the two. When it just ended, I was a little puzzled. I found out what had happened to her by reading the rest of the book but I wanted to know more of her opinion. I wanted to know what had actually happened to Sarah. Had she come to the United States? Had she really never contacted the people that saved her from being sent to her death bed?
I think your story is wonderful. There is so much going on. Whether its between Julia and Zoe or Julia and William. I love all the different things that somehow all connect together. It's very thrilling not knowing whats going to happen next. I think that's my favorite part about your writing. Not knowing whats going to happen next. With some stories its so predictable and sometimes really boring. I think you created a wonderful book and I hope you continue writing.
Sincerely,
Samantha Vaux
